The Nuchal Translucency (NT) scan is an ultrasound examination performed during early pregnancy to measure the fluid thickness at the back of the fetal neck. It forms part of first-trimester screening for certain chromosomal abnormalities.

Preparation

Preparation depends on the centre and gestational age. A partially/full bladder may sometimes be requested. No fasting generally required.
